There are many manufacturers of heat pump equipment, and it can be hard as a customer to choose which is best for your home. We discuss brands on the market and the ones we commonly work with.
When it comes to choosing HVAC equipment, the landscape can be overwhelming, with a multitude of brands available. Some of the most recognized names in the industry include Gree, Carrier, Bryant, Trane, Goodman, Daikin, American Standard, York, Coleman, Midea, and Mitsubishi Electric. But the complexity doesn't stop there—many of these brands are interconnected through partnerships that blur the lines between them.
For instance, Daikin owns Goodman, and much of the equipment sold under the Goodman brand is identical to Daikin's, differing only in name and branding. Similarly, Mitsubishi Electric, American Standard, and Trane share technology and equipment through their partnership, meaning you may find the same system with different badges. In some cases, partnerships are even more subtle, such as Midea manufacturing equipment for Carrier. Carrier and Bryant equipment is often so similar that distributors may send us units without branding, allowing us to choose whether to apply Carrier or Bryant stickers.
When it comes to selecting the best equipment for our customers, we follow a rigorous process to ensure quality, reliability, and value. Here’s what we consider:
Gree has become our go-to brand for HVAC equipment because they consistently meet our stringent criteria. They have a massive global manufacturing presence, producing one in every three heat pumps worldwide. While Gree may not be a household name in the US, their products are highly respected and widely used internationally. Their equipment combines reliability, efficiency, and value—qualities that are essential for us and our customers.
We understand that some customers have specific brand preferences, but in most cases, we stick to the brands we know and trust. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with certain manufacturers, ensuring that we can provide excellent after-sales support. Installing a brand we’re less familiar with can introduce risks, as our technicians may not have the same level of training and expertise with that brand’s systems. HVAC installations are complex, and even small differences between brands can lead to mistakes.
For example, Mitsubishi Electric is often praised as a top-tier brand, and while they do produce high-quality equipment, we generally avoid their products. The reason is that their systems are equipped with highly sensitive sensors and complex electronics, which can lead to frequent issues post-installation. Troubleshooting these delicate systems can be challenging, and we believe in offering our customers robust solutions with minimal hassle.
By choosing equipment from brands we trust, we ensure that your system is installed correctly and operates efficiently for years to come.
